The debut single is called Sharp Side Up and is available now on all streaming platforms.
It was partly inspired by seeing Amelie Duchow and Ryoji Ikeda live at LEV Fest in Spain in May who both gave me the courage to branch out with a more experimental sound.

‘When attending the LEV Festival in Gijón, Asturias, Spain, I spent a tranquil hour in the aquarium where I saw the most impoactful display of life I have ever seen… the Floating Bell Jellyfish. Inspired by this, I was able to finish a work in progress track that I was playing with.

Colin learned to play the banjo, clawhammer style, during the pandemic.
He learned from Evie Ladin and Tom Collins on Patreon and watched educational videos by Hilary Hawke, Banjo Jen, Mandy at Banjo Lemonade and Hilarie Burhans.
All exceptional educators and players and each had their own little tips and tricks to get him through the learning process.

Over the winter of 2023/4, he discovered the KO-33! by Teenage Engineering, a micro sampler and drum machine that fits in your pocket.
Realising that he could now create full tracks with this wee machine and a microphone pointing at his Banjo, Colin got started turning his banjo jams into tracks with beats and chops.
His debut instrumental ‘Becca, Drop It’ came out on August 24th 2024 and was followed very shortly after by ‘Hey, Dougie’, both tunes inspired by the two labradors in his life.
Once hooked on Teenage Engineering’s methodology & innovation, Colin grabbed himself a K.O. II (EP-133) and has been getting to grips with its ridiculous sampling power and having fun compiling new tunes.
This was followed by ‘accessorising’ his portable studio with the OP-Z. An incredible synth/sequencer which has a powerful step component feature which is fantastic for actioning random activity in ambient tunes… The Dec 22nd 2024 release ‘An Outro Sequence’ was written and created solely on this great wee device.
